Why we are Unique

Why is Earth Champions Unique?

The ‘Ecological Olympics’

The Foundation will showcase the Outstanding Earth Champions for one day, the week prior to the start of the Summer Olympics every four years, when the world media are relaying stories to approximately three billion people. This established link with the timing and spirit of the Olympics could foster a global sense of stewardship, and a natural link between our athletic champions and environmental champions, both a symbol of health and achievement. We want to establish a standard of Excellence generated from discovery of new innovation, collective participation and wise eminent  people to evaluate the nominations.

We intend to instil hope.

Grass Roots Engagement

The Quest offers choices and this is one for the people, especially young people.

We invite the public to participate in the “Call to Action” to seek and discover their champions for the benefit of their community. Everyday people often have the answers but not the voice to let it be known that there are hundreds of excellent solutions in their region. They are often modest, unsung heroes that local people know and are happy to nominate. The program is inclusive, non-aligned, non political and seeks the best in each community.

International Alumni of Champions

Earth Champions Quests have successfully been conducted in three languages over ten years from Australia, Switzerland and Hong Kong. The 2012 London event will be an iconic and moving experience where achievements and technologies from all four nations will be showcased to people worldwide.  This will inspire local and international communities to similarly champion their environment every four years. We aim to establish new global environmental benchmarks, set by the global community.

Inclusive of a range of industries and sectors

The public is invited to nominate their champions from a diverse range of areas. Applications are invited from individuals, social groups, organizations and associations, businesses and corporations, and government. The nomination categories are Water, Energy, Transport, Biodiversity, Built Environment, Air, Waste reduction and Wellbeing, Finance, Media.
