Board Structure
The Foundation is an incorporated body under the Corporations (Victoria) Act 1990. It is registered as an environmental organisation in Australia and has tax exempt charitable gift status.
It is non-political, non-confrontational and operates a secretariat governed by an international Board of Directors.
The Foundation’s Board currently consists of six directors:
Bryan Belling
(Chairman and Senior Partner in legal firm Homes Wilkinson Lowry)
Ross Youngman
(CEO and Founder of Five Oceans Asset Management Group)
Dr Noel Brown
(Former Director of UN Environment Program for the Americas, former professor of international law at Yale University USA )
Edward de Bono
(Distinguished author of 63 books on creative and conceptual thinking and inventor of the term ‘lateral thinking’)
Fiona Mathews
(Foundation Chief Executive Officer. Former public relations executive for Memtec, (now part of Veolia), previously served on UN committees)
Professor Edward Kosior
(Managing Director of Nextek, leader of academic research in environmental technology at Swinburne University)
The inaugural Chairman was Dr Brian Robinson (deceased 2004), who was then Chairman of State Government of Victoria’s Environment Protection Authority. The Board is grateful to Brian and his family for his founding contribution
The Skoll world Forum on Social Entrepreneurship 30 March-1 April 2011. Guest speakers included Queen Noor of Jordan, Desmond Tutu and Lord Sainbury. Fiona Mathews was invited to participate at this very exciting initiative which was founded by Jeff Skoll.
