The Earth Champions Quests are the Foundation’s major initiative. The Quests identify ‘Earth Champions’, who are people and organisations that have made a significant and positive impact on an environmental issue. Anyone, rich or poor, can be an Earth Champion.
Launched in 2000 with Nelson Mandela giving the inaugral award. Quests have been completed in Hong kong Switzerland and Australia. The current Quest will be in London UK.
The purpose of the Earth Champions Quests is to discover new heroes that inspire people, especially youth, to seek innovative ecological solutions . World communities seek and nominate their own champions.
